The oxidation process from the titanium electrodes “burns up” the dead organic matter that are killed by the copper ions. The titanium produces multiple forms of oxygen, resulting in a natural, non-chemical “shock” to clean and clarify pool water. ECOsmarte automates the pH control with carbon dioxide (CO2), eliminating most of the acid.

SPA SET-UP

1. Push control button on “high.”
2. Push “ionize” button on until copper lever is 0.7, using your test kit
3. Switch to the “oxidize” button.  Connect the control box to an automatic timer, set it to oxidize the spa for 6 hours a day. (If “oxidize” is left on non-stop, the spa will get cloudy with air bubbles, which takes 2-3 weeks for them to clear up after it is turned off. This is not harmful: it just looks cloudy.)
